“Wow! An Authentic Looking Olde New York Pharmacy a”
The trend continues. Everything great and original in this town is neglected and destroyed resulting in lamentations from the gentrifiers who then build reproductions of what once was. Disney knew this was coming when he added Main Street USA tohis theme parks.

“Going to Lincoln Center? Ed's is Your Best Bet”
Great food and service. Lovely room. Fair prices. No wonder this has become the best bet for pre and post Lincoln Center performances.

“The NYC Restaurant Death Knell Has Sounded”

“Is There Anything This Site Won't Shill For?”
So, Pizza in a cone is "apparently common in Brazil, Italy and Russia already"... Geez, where will this site send us next, how bout some shit on a stick? I bet that's "apparently common" somewhere!

“McNally At the Helm? Another P.R. Driven Shitshow”
Let's face it, this guys restaurants, with posssibly one exception, have all been p.r./NY Mag driven mediocrities replete with EPCOT worthy homage decor and a cast of over the hill 80s types and desperate housewives. It looks like now his ambition has diminished even further and he's jumping on the "artisinal pizza" /low cost of goods high profit bandwagon. Let the daytrippers from NJ and the tourists eat at his places.

“Do Us All A Favor, Get A Sitter or Stay Home!”
Excuse me, but if a location is inappropriate for or deems it necessary to exclude infants then you can't plead that your rights to breast feed there are being denied. Following the whiners logic out here we should also sue porn theaters, strip clubs, late night music venues and bottle service clubs for HR 296 (2)(a) discrimination as well.

“Do We Really Want Screaming Infants Around Us At A”
I don't see why there is a problem with barring infants from a food and wine event, ostensibly geared toward a somewhat sophisticated adult crowd. Given the behavior by parents nowadays I wouldn't be surprised to see unattended infants running up and down the aisles screaming and imbecilic Mr Moms using the food display tables for diaper changing tables if not for this rule.

“Ya Don't Know What You've Got Till It's Gone”
The arrivistes and "foodies" neglected the great, old, original New York Jewish food havens and now they are virtually extinct. I would suggest those interested in Deli head over to places like Bens Best (112-40 Queens Blvd) to sample what still remains. This amateurish little vanity business which can't seem to even do dinner seems to have blown it's wad on a p.r. blitz.

“Oh Oh, Another Overhyped Pizza Rip Off On Life Sup”
This promo and others like it smacks of desperation. Perhaps instead of blowing big bucks on p.r. budgets guaranteeing hype and NY Mag placement, these places should work on food and service. That way, maybe they wouldn't have to charge 5 bucks for bread and butter and wouldn't be in dire straits.

“Great Burgers. No Attitude.”
Showed up early for a 4 top and instead of the usual "you can be seated when youre table is complete" b.s. was immediately seated at a nice corner table and grabbed a great "cold ass" brew. Party assembled and loved the burgers, fixins and sides. Prices were reasonable and the vibe and service were great.

“Pancakes for Dinner? Are they kidding?”
This place should be grateful there are still children from out of town inhabiting what was once the Lower East Side who are willing to wait on line in the cold for breakfast. If they expect them to return for dinner they had best come up with something better than more pancakes.

“Borscht-Belt Inspired?! That's What We Need!”
The so called "borscht-belt" inspired delicacies are rapidly becoming extinct. With the demise of Ratner's and Diamond Dairy we no longer have even one decent old style Jewish Dairy left in this town. We do not want or need a trendy or Middle Eastern inspired riff on Kosher, we want homemade hot onion rolls, good blintzes, fresh soups, vegetarian cutlets and Victory cake!!!

“60 bucks for pizza and pasta? what a deal?!”
Can someone explain why I would want to drop 60 bucks for a handful of olives, a couple rice balls and some pizza and pasta? Perhaps if the room was stocked with hotties (which it wont be) or the proceeds went to charity (which they aren't).

“Una Pizza is Gone? It's About Time! ”
tons of p.r. driven hype claiming "best pizza/most authentic in NYC" . lines outside; bad attitude and service inside. weird vibe with a list of house rules; no toppings, no substitutions, no plates for sharing (?!) an angry tattooed psycho making the pies. first; sour wine served in a dirty utility glass. then; a soggy little disc laden with gummy cheese and too much salt and or garlic. totally unmemorable sauce. you lift the slice and the cheese slides right off and theres a puddle at the center leaving the crust wet. and the price; $21.00 for a 12" tiny plain margherita? are they kidding me? strangers at adjacent tables were commiserating over how bad a ripoff the place was and agreeing on how we had all been suckered. the tab; 2 mini pizzas, sodas/1 glass wine; around $75. Never again. leave this one for the tourists. btw if in the neighborhood and in the mood for some authentic italian style pizza but served with good service and fair prices, go around the corner to Luzzos on first and 13th. i have alot of friends who are italian expats and they all consider it their fave.

“Gitane at the Jane? Quite Lame.”
Why oh why would the Jane, hipster heaven, incorporate a eurotrash douchebag hangout with godawful food onto the premises? I suspect desperation. The Jane is simply too big to be hip nowadays. There just aren't that many "cool" people left in this town.

“John Dory closes? Good riddance to pre-recession a”
Called these guys up for a rez and was told they only had 5 or 11. Similar experiences shared by friends who would curiously walk by and always see empty tables. Ignored the hype machine and asked those who ate there what they thought and they all found the food gloppy, vile and wildly expensive. Never called back for another rez.

“Frannys: The Ultimate Pizza Rip Off”
Absorbed all the hype and decided to check this place out with my kids. Paper thin "matzo pizza" and a wildly overpriced salad. Weird "we don't cut the pizza" attitude. OK, so gimme a knife, I'll cut it myself. Left hungry after blowing a C Note ($100USD) If ever there was a throwback to the bubble, this place is it! Sorry Franny, throwing us a comp glass of 7 bucks a bottle prosecco aint gonna save your business.

“BLT: Still Acting Like its 2006!”
Recently dined with a large group at BLT steak on 57th. Immediately shown to the worst table in the room, in front of the kitchen. Told the imbyhost that this was a non starter and had to call the manager to get the right table. Keep in mind there were plenty of tables open. Food was the usual expense account wildly overpriced fare yet not as good as I remembered it. This attitude at these price points and BLT will soon be a memory.

“The Place Positively Reeks”
I never understood how this place has survived. Who would want to engage in conversation or romance while sitting in a foul smelling room redolent of stinky cheese? I was there exactly once and bailed after just 10 minutes at the bar with lost appetite.

“NY Magazine? p.r. driven hype”
As a lifelong New Yorker I must say that the absolute worst tips on places to eat and drink I have ever received have all come from the pages of NY Magazine. Absolutely worthless, p.r. driven hype.

“it's about time!”
It's about time they got a new chef. This place has been a disappointment from day 1. In it's prior incarnation they had perfectly rendered bistro and brasserie favorites with a geriatric clientele. Now they abandoned cuisine for a makeover and lost their geriatric audience and their target audience and have become a culinary joke. The sort of place clueless tourists get sent to from kickbakc concierges at nearby hotels.

“Chef Medina...............My Vato!”
Chef Medina rocks and so does this theater district standby with some of the best Mex in town. Sure, we all know about the gimmicky grasshoper tacos, but the rest of the menu is absolutely killer, and fairly priced considering it ranks up there with Pampano and Hells Kitchen. The Margaritas aint bad either.

“Good food in a cramped space”
Love the creative cooking and the prices here are fair but the front room and the barrooms are a bit cramped and unpleasant. This is one restaurant where bar dining destroys the ambience and socializing potential of the bar.

“Delicatessen? I don't think so.”
The vaguely Asian accented New York comfort food offered here is abysmal on all counts and the spaced out wasted staff remind one of a "heroin chic" ad from the grunge era.

“Policy Makes Sense”
As a physician who is tormented continuously by no shows and last minute cancellations I can relate to the owner/managers of Ko, however I think the 300 dollar fee is a bit steep. They should charge 50 per seat for no shows or last minute cancels. In regards to your friends excuse, well, it is definitely not the responsibility of the restaurant to weed out the genuine excuses from the usual b.s. you hear from people in New York.
