Beacon's 12th Annual Beefsteak
If you've ever celebrated Mardi Gras in New Orleans, you know it's an incomparable experience. New York isn't too shabby, though. At Beacon's 12th annual Beefsteak on March 21st (aka, Fat Tuesday), it'll be a night full of gluttony starting at 6:30 p.m. Think DeBragga New York's Butcher, Brooklyn Brewery, Maker's Mark and The Blue Vipers of Brooklyn all gathered in one room. How couldn't it be a good party? To be more specific, there will be 1,000 mini burgers, 35 pounds of crab meat, 600 lamb chops, 40 pounds of bacon-wrapped kidneys, 900 pints of Brooklyn Brewery's specially brewed pilsner and much, much more. The $160 price tag is all inclusive and you won't even have to feel guilty about all the fun because a portion of the proceeds will benefit Green Chimneys Children's Services, which works with children in need of various social services.
Beacon is located at 25 West 56th Street (between Fifth and Sixth Avenues), 212-332-0500, http://www.beaconnyc.com/.
